#IAMWHOLE – Supporting World Mental Health Day

Today we back the #IAMWHOLE campaign, to raise awareness surrounding mental health issues in young people.

Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day, supported by the United Nations (UN) is held on 10th October every year to raise public awareness about mental health issues worldwide. It’s a chance to promote open discussions on illnesses, as well as investments in prevention and treatment services.

More than one in three young people with mental health difficulties experience stigma, according to major new research released by youth charity, YMCA.

At Cogs, it’s a topic that we consider hugely important and want to encourage people to speak up and be aware of the many mental illnesses that people suffer from. In fact throughout the month of October we will be tackling the importance of diversity in the workplace and in our culture.

Today we back the #IAMWHOLE campaign, brain child of Singer Jordan Stephens, from the musical duo Rizzle Kicks. He has launched an NHS backed anti-stigma campaign to raise awareness surrounding mental health issues in young people. The hope is that the act of people posting a selfie with a circle drawn on their hand will go viral to further raise awareness – and we wanted to show our support today.
