Ever wondered what happens when you cram 50 aspiring service designers into one room for 48 hours? Great ideas are born! And on the 9th – 11th March we saw many great ideas presented to a panel of judges as part of the Global Service Jam movement (planet.globlaservicejam.org).
Not only are we a lifetime sponsor of the HK arm of this global initiative (www.jamhk.org), we also participate and our resident UX & Design recruiter, Natalie Hallows sat on the winning team. Natalie and fellow teammates created a service based product concept to help job seekers to gain information around potential career paths based on data gleaned through a web-based questionnaire, which is then intuitively correlated and compared with personal data aggregated through their social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc).
The panel of judges included senior design and marketing professionals from global financial institutions, digital consultancies and technology companies. A tough crowd indeed but one that gave constructive feedback and takeaways which will surely be invaluable to the participants (aptly called Jammers).
The Service Jam’s will be running every 2-3 months so if you haven’t yet had the pleasure of experiencing this truly awesome design initiative then don’t worry as there will be more to come. Just keep an eye on our blog, social pages and the Jam’s own website for future dates.
