For our client, a global idea-driven agency with a digitally-focused independent network, we are looking for a

Business Director (m/f), Essen/Munich

The agency works differently to other communications companies, combining 13 specialist companies with their respective skills, entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative culture, all of which is delivered at scale. 

The challenge:

The business director role is to head up the global account of an internationally leading energy provider. The account encompasses digital, TV, print, CRM, content and social campaigning across Germany, UK, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania.

It’s a hugely exciting time to be involved with the client. They’re on a mission to change what people think about energy companies, moving away from the commodity business into new and exciting areas like Smart Homes, Wireless Charging, Solar Storage and Electric Vehicle charging. The work to be created is ground-breaking, highly creative, and a huge step-change for the entire utility sector. This is an opportunity to get involved in a truly multi-channel account.

This role is to work with the clients International and German Teams in Essen, Düsseldorf and Munich. European travel will be required.

The role:

  • Business Director – with global responsibility
  • Client Service expertise in managing and developing a demanding client
  • Business Development for a brand in transformation towards a smart and user-driven age of communication
  • Team Leadership for an Account Director, Account Manager and Project Manager reporting into it initially with expectations towards the Business Director to grow and add to the team over time
  • Close Cooperation with 2 Business Directors who oversee the UK business, so that everything is seamless and joined up
  • 50% of time will be business development and 50% account management
  • Excellent team work essential
  • This role can also be done partly onsite and partly home office

Your profile:

  • 8+ years working experience in advertising and/or client side marketing
  • Proven track record working on integrated accounts, encompassing all elements of classic and digital. This includes digital and performance marketing, CRM, content and social for campaigns.
  • Successful delivery of organic new business projects and client development
  • Fluent English/German are a must
