SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST (w/m) – Berlin
Our client, a design agency uses storytelling and data visualizations to develop award-winning infographics that enable knowledge. Their multidisciplinary team includes graphic artists, data journalists, developers and researchers who work together to build impactful solutions. Not only do they create customized content and standardized infographic toolsets for businesses, they explore new technologies, including augmented and virtual reality.
We are looking for a Senior Communications Strategist to serve as a key member of the team and play an essential client-facing role in gathering direction and presenting strategic thinking. You sit at the intersection of planning, managing and making.
Your responsibilities: • Conduct research, including selecting the best methodologies, providing oversight to the team, and developing insightful and useful conclusions • Identify relevant trends in global consumer or business culture • Understand branding and marketing communications, with a focus on how target audiences think, behave, build perceptions and consume information. • Develop customer journey maps/experience maps to identify communication gaps and create optimizations / recommendations • Uncover the needs, concerns and touch points of the target audience • Create inspiring, insight-based briefs for the design and creative teams • Collaborate with Client Services, Design, Technology and Content departments to devise strategies that inspire and change behaviors, and shape and mold the work product as it is developed • Conduct workshops, initiate innovative thinking and reshape briefings and timings (in German and English) • Understand the customers’ business and challenges, creating strategies to solve those challenges, and defining how the work will deliver on their objectives and KPIs • Actively identify new business models or delivery opportunities and approaches (upsell) • Forge and maintain strong and trusting relationships with clients
Your skills: • College or university degree (e.g. BA/BS Marketing or Communications) or equivalent degree within appropriate discipline such as Business, Graphic Arts, Marketing, Advertising • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with working knowledge of brand and comms planning, conducting research (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic), and digital and social strategy from briefing to completion in a creative or media agency • Interest in new technologies (AR, VR) and data-science (machine learning, AI, blockchain) • Understanding of traditional media, as well as digital and social media, platforms and services • Basic understanding of the infographic, data visualization, and content industry and related trends, bestpractices, working processes, and methodologies • Confident and flexible bringing experience working in interdisciplinary teams where harmonious collaboration is imperative • Lively, open-minded, taking ownership of your project and showing initiative • Excellent communication skills and presentation talent • Fluent in German and English
