Yep, that’s correct, we at Cogs Agency again came together with a number of industry leaders to support the second edition of HK Service Jam. 

On Friday 14th July we kicked off the summer with a high energy design event. Over the course of the weekend (and in less than 50 hours), 60 participants  were expected to form teams with complete strangers, develop a service design led product concept and and bring this to life to put before a panel of judges.

Candy Wu, who manages our UX & Design recruitment division for Hong Kong, was there throughout the weekend. Candy is an ex-industry veteran who has worked at 4A’s agencies and ran her own design business. She was on-hand to offer design advice to teams and individuals alike.

Candy commented:

“I was really inspired with all these participants by their passion, determination and devotion. This really came through in the final presentations. Each team had their shining moment, and the judges had a real difficult time to pick the winner, Team Serenity”.

Candy explained:

“Team Serenity had a really kick ass idea, especially for Hong Kong: using a mobile app you are able to upload the sound/noise levels of your surroundings. The system compares this to the noise levels of other environments in the database and intuitively suggests other locations nearby that might offer a more suitable environment for you to work, play, relax, etc. It really depends on your personal preferences”.

So Team Serenity took home the gold. Well done folks! And congratulations to all those that took part. Every idea was a real winner.

This really was a fun-fueled weekend and we’re just grateful to be a part of it.
