It’s no secret, that Cogs enjoy a letting their hair down. Whether it be monthly socials, summer parties or getting in the festive spirit. This week it was Cogs London’s turn to get dolled up and celebrate in style at the Neo Victorian Fantasy Christmas Party the Tobacco Docks, London!
As we entered the Victorian splendour of the grade 1-listed building it felt like we’d stepped back in history,with a mix of steampunk inspired/ eclectic mash-up of old-world meets new! We were greeted with Christmas Trees dressed in antique Victorian decorations as we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco and wonderful canapés in the entrance hall.
At 8pm dinner was called as a life-size Phileas Fogg Hot Air Balloon rose from the dancefloor in the main ballroom. We were treated to a feast including a ‘warm roasted butternut squash and onion tart with rocket and mozzarella’, ‘rosemary breast of chicken vegetables and potatoes gratin’, followed by ‘clementine crumble, chocolate doughnut and white chocolate and cranberry blondie’ all the while we were being entertained by vintage street performers and Victorian Strongman acts.
Once dinner was complete the real fun began with an excellent dj playing a mix of chart hits and cheesy pop! Some of the team hit the dance floor to show off their moves, while others hopped on the dodgems to show off their bad driving – there was also the option of a flutter on the casino. For those hard core members of the team (no names mentioned) who were still partying into the small hours – they were also treated to a survivors breakfast of bacon sarnies at 1am!
An absolutely brilliant night had by all, thanks to our office manager (aka party planner) Claire for organising!
