A Year to Celebrate: 2016 Review

2016, for many a year to forget – for Cogs it was a year to remember…

Building a Workplace That Supports Mental Health

2016, how was it for you? Cogs had a brilliant year, securing partnerships with new and existing agencies, global brands and tech start-ups as well as working with incredible talent across the globe.

Internally we’ve had some exciting developments too; we’ve always believed in growing talent from within and believe promoting employees is a vital part of our evolution. Last year we made a big investment in our internal training and broadening the career path options for members of the team and it’s brilliant to see so many members of the team thriving in the business.

In 2016 Cogs promoted a Principal Consultant and three Heads of Departments to Directors; two senior consultants to Heads of Department, two consultants to Senior Consultants and 5 new starters/ resourcers to fully fledged consultants.

As well as promoting from within, Cogs have been hiring across our global network, expanding our teams with the very best talent across our current disciplines and even opening new desks. We also took on 16 new members across the 4 offices last year, from Consultants to Senior Consultants as well as  Marketing Manager. One of our new starters, Terry Gager joined London as a Senior Consultant and has opened our first ever Cyber Security Desk. Astrid Haizet joined the London office as a Consultant and has launched our Paris Recruitment desk.
Sabrina Gigante, returned to the London office from Maternity leave to launch our first Fashion and Retail desk. She is now Head of  Client Services but still covering this exciting area.

Last year also saw an increased investment into our marketing – being in a fast paced innovative industry, working with digitally savvy individuals meant Cogs needed a website that would stand up. We had a total rebrand and launched a new website, both of which seem to have been met with great approval – from clients and candidates alike. As well as this Cogs launched the Cogs Crunch which invited digitals to listen to an A-List speaker and network over breakfast, in both London and Berlin. We also saw some exciting insights brought to light in our Digital Speakeasy Series.

What else is coming up in 2017?

There are big plans for 2017 within the Cogs family involving potential new offices and expansion which is really exciting. Look out for some big marketing campaigns and unique content coming your way too.

We also have some exciting stuff going on internally for employees and teams – and more plenty of internal growth on the horizon, so if you are considering a new role in recruitment please in touch.
