Engagement Director (m/f) Munich


Our client is one of Europe’s leading Sports Marketing companies. This company specializes in branding for athletes, sports clubs, associations & global brands. The Engagement Director envisions the social media strategy, paid media, social analytics, and real time content creation in order to drive engagement and excitement. This would include leading the activation approach and working closely on the development and creation of social content.


Key Accountabilities

  • Strategize the overall social strategy for the business unit, including content, social activation and storytelling framework
  • Partner with Brand Management functions to oversee social activations and content for all brands’ digital and social networks
  • Lead global launch plans around key stories and content for the brand’s social platforms
  • Lead regional and market stakeholders to ensure alignment of the global strategies on a local level, closely involving the global newsroom network
  • Oversee connection plans for further campaign initiatives between the website and brand social networks
  • Review outreach initiatives to strengthen the brand and business unit specific personality and voice within the industry
  • In partnership with the Digital Analytics team, oversee the establishment of relevant metrics to map the impact of social media activities and amend strategies based on learnings and patterns


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Managerial experience in (sports) marketing campaign development and execution
  • Strong background as an interactive strategist, community manager or directly related experience
  • Strong ability to manage the implementation of a strategic campaign within the social media space
  • Proven track record in account management, account growth, and leadership of cross-functional teams
  • Specialist in paid media, content creator, hard-and software skills
  • Natural storyteller and visual communicator
  • Deep understanding and experience of the digital landscape and all social media channels
  • Managerial working knowledge of development languages (e.g. HTML, Flash, Javascript, XML), analytics systems and tools, standard CMS platforms and digital channels
  • Excellent organizational skills



  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, PR or a related field. Master’s degree / MBA a plus
  • 6+ years’ industry and / or relevant work experience.
  • Full professional fluency in German and English
