These guys are a new and exciting brand who manufacture products which limit harmful blue light from screens, protecting eyes and improving sleep. Developed by an optometrist they now have over 20,000 + products.
They are now at the stage where they have raised investment from a big telecoms company and is looking to grow the team to scale up the business. They are on a mission to protect people’s eyes in the digital age from harmful blue light emitted from screens. They have relaunched with a new exciting brand and now speaking to top tier retailers to launch their products in stores.
2019 – This year they are collaborating with some big brands to help push themselves to the next level.
You will be working in a small team of up to five working closely with the founder. You will develop strategies and have the ability to execute these. In the longer term there is the potential for the right candidate to step up into a director of marketing role + equity options in the startup.
The main objective of this role is to develop their online strategy and growth. This is achieved through a variety of brand and communications. As a strong direct to consumer brand currently a focus should be digital marketing with ROI being shown through digital channels. There will be less of offline based marketing, but you will have exposure to this plus some operations so you can understand the business fully.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
o Creating and driving brand awareness through a wide range of communication activities in order to generate sales + customers
o Leading the sales and marketing activities for products this year
o Lead and own the company annual brand plans, communication strategies, and promotional activity.
o Effectively measure and monitor all brand activity and spend in order to refine marketing plans moving forwards.
o Working effectively with paid acquisition team PPC, FB ads etc to generate reports to carry on growth
REQUIRED SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate will have the following experience;
o 2 years experience in a digital marketing related role
o Must have exposure to paid acquisition via Google, Facebook and other online channels
o Understanding of SEO and how it forms a viable custom accusation channel
o Email marketing expertise – Mailchimp etc, big focus on how to develop this further
o Must be able to work with CRM, Saas and WordPress based software
o Digital marketing courses/certificates to show candidates personal drive to develop themselves
o Project management skills, working with outsourced teams and in-house
o Must be able to push and challenge team beyond conventional digital marketing
o Must have worked in a fast-growing business – used to high pace, high action environment
o Able to overcome internal challenges and gain traction quickly
o Strong commercial skills
o Experience in writing marketing and brand plans and strategies – although we are more about executing! We rather you spend less time on decks and more time on doing
o Have a good understanding of digital marketing
o Performance driven, able to manage at pace, self-motivated and able to prioritise.
o Excellent communication: diplomatic and tactful.
o Organised and able to multi-tasks and priorities.
