Our Client is a leading global management consultancy of results-oriented professionals who specialise in creating value and restoring performance at every stage of the business life cycle. The role supports three of the EMEA offices in Munich, Dusseldorf and Zurich, as well as working closely with the EMEA Organizational Development & Human Resources team as well as the US resourcing teams.

Your Role

We are looking for a Resource Manager based in Munich to cover the German and Swiss offices. The Resource Manager ensures that the business remains agile in its response to client demands and has the right people deployed on the right projects at the right time. The Resource Manager is a committed individual, who will thrive in a reactive fast-paced environment, be comfortable managing conflicting priorities and have the gravitas to influence a team of challenging senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with MDs and Directors to understand the resourcing needs of each project and continually evaluate the progress of projects in order to adjust resourcing levels accordingly  
  • Propose creative solutions to MDs and Directors on resourcing topics on a per project basis 
  • Understand the consultants’ skills and abilities to match them with the appropriate projects 
  • Provide strategic oversight by monitoring utilisation statistics 
  • Identify and propose solutions to resolve longer term patterns of over and underutilisation via tracking, maintaining and reporting on operational effectiveness and utilisation
  • Work closely with individuals, career coaches and the local Director of Talent Management to assess development needs to support individual career planning
  • Participate in the performance reviews to input and capture any feedback to help inform future resourcing decisions
  • Collaborate with the talent team to share knowledge and highlight any relevant internal talent or development information
  • Share knowledge with resourcing teams throughout EMEA and the US to ensure the best use of available resources globally

Key Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, Project Management or Consultancy
  • Strong analysis and presentation capabilities, with good working knowledge of Excel and Power Point 
  • Gravitas and personal impact to question and challenge a team of senior stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to negotiate, challenge and influence across multiple levels of stakeholders and employees
  • Open minded, agile with change and practical
  • Fluency in German and English is mandatory
