After speaking to clients, candidates and generally digging around as we do, this is our take on the market – please note this is London focused:
Strategy – perm and freelance
Market is getting hotter, multiple offers going out to good people – recommendation to all clients would be to move as quickly as possible in regards to making a decision one way or the other. People are not hanging around.
Producers/Project Managers
More and more are looking at freelance due to the fact that they are not seeing salary increases in line with the increased workload. Market is very competitive for both.
Tech – extremely busy – lack of permanent back end developers due to freelance demand – high demand for PHP growing need for .NET developers and still high high demand for flash action scripters both perm and freelance. More senior roles being opened up and team building around them.
Client services
Recommendation to clients – another market which is getting increasingly competitive in London – drain of staff to Amsterdam – and multiple offers going out to the better candidates who are looking at both SAM, AD and above.
Account Managers and Graduates – We would implore all clients to bring on at least one new Account Manager and/or a Graduate before the summer – the industry is always crying out for new blood – leave a gap now it will follow for years to come.
