Cogs Hong Kong supported Blockstack in the Asian launch and leg of Decentralizing the World Tour last week.
We held an intimate session under a HK digital community meetup we support (HK Techneeks) with the Blockstack team and other enthusiasts at Wan Chai on the 9th Jan, a day before their half-day launch event in HKEX Connect Hall.
Thanks once again to the Garage Society team for sharing the space and to those that made time to join us last Wednesday. For those who were unable to attend, we had the privilege of Jude Nelson and Ken Liao to share their knowledge on decentralisation, the architecture, existing problems we have in our online world today and presenting the benefits of moving to a decentralised platform.
Here’s a live stream of the session:
Blockstack advocates for data ownership among company and developers which aligns with the call for increased privacy in the digital world today due to the events that happened in 2018 (Cambridge Analytica).
Decentralizing the World Tour
Cogs Hong Kong technology team were privileged to be given tickets to attend Blockstack’s launch event – a half-day conference with a strong line-up of crypto experts, investors and thought leaders the likes of William Mougayar, Nick Grossman (Union Square Ventures), Pindar Wong (VeriFi) etc.
The conference gathered the best minds and peers who bond over the future of the internet.
Muneeb Ali, CEO and co-founder of Blockstack closed the day optimistic about blockchain’s adoption in Asia and the positive role of the decentralised internet will play.
