Thanks to our very own Mark Hothi for this:
So we’ve all got mates who sit around saying things like ‘I’ll run that marathon next year,’ ‘I could totally make a gingerbread house if I wanted to’ or ‘One day I’d like to do something to change the world.’ Well talk is cheap, and it’s time for YOU to get them off that sofa and give them the gift of achievement.
All you have to do is set up a challenge, and pledge that if they complete it, you’ll donate some money to help beat cancer.
OK we know what you’re thinking: you might not be flash enough to stump up a donation that will get your mate up Everest.
But wait… supposing all your friends chipped in with pledges…
and then their friends joined in to pledge… and your families… and work colleagues… and Twitter followers…
Can you see them backing out of the challenge then? Neither can we.
Afterwards they’ll be basking in the glory of having really completed something inspirational and great. (Or something amusing that people will be sharing on YouTube for the next millennium. That’s your call.)
You then come back to Pledgeit and confirm the challenge is complete, crowning your friend an official Pledgend. Once you do that, we cash the pledges and all that cash goes to help beat cancer. Yep, every single penny of your pledge goes straight to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. Take that, cancer.
So that’s what’s going down around here. Any questions?
