We recently had the pleasure of meeting the Design Director at an extremely interesting brand who are looking to hire three perm and one freelance UI / Interaction Designers. We would go far as to say that we think these positions are the most exciting we have taken on this year in this job sector.
They really are on the verge of the next level of design work and are looking for two UI / Interaction Designers and as a company it feels like a young Google or Facebook. We left genuinely enthused and excited about helping them build their Digital Design Team. They embrace a perfect combination of work and life balance, combined with brilliant training opportunities, varying from a day Screen Printing, collaborating in Human Interaction workshops to career progression across international offices.
Our meeting was held in the spacious common areas which are regularly used for creative meetings, company video chats or just chilling out on lunch, it has a very flat structure and both the Design Director and intern were throwing ideas around and playing around with scamps and post its whilst we were there. It’s filled with school style benches & also pool table, table football & a huge TV with video calling to the outside world. The focal point of the kitchen is the chalk board that announces that week’s Free (yes free) Friday lunch; which this week is sushi from a local restaurant. But aside from all of this fun stuff, the design team loves and labours over design and is all about what’s next, from Mobile to table, and how they can evolve over a mix of physical and digital projects.
