News from the Rich Media world!
A couple of weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting up with Adrian Whitehead from DoubleClick Google to talk about their certification programme for developers and designers.
So what does this mean for you?
DoubleClick certification is a programme that demonstrates a user’s knowledge and skills in DoubleClick Studio by passing an online exam. It distinguishes them as highly skilled in creating innovative, high-performing rich media ads.
Simply put, obtaining this certification is a way for your clients to instantly know that you’ve got the skills you say you have, without having to prove it over and over again. It’s free and you get to collect badges on the go – and who doesn’t like badges, right!? And then you can attach the badges to your online portfolio too. The badges cover specialist areas within DoubleClick Studio.
At this stage there are three types of certifications available, with additional ones to be released soon.
To join the growing community of certified rich media developers, DoubleClick have kindly released the Rich Media Academy online training course and the creative development section should cover most things in the certification.
It’s an open-book test, so you are able to complete the test as if you were working on an actual rich media job. You can complete the test in your own time at home, or head over to Google offices to complete it on-site. Test days will be announced soon, so stay tuned.
A few guys from the Google Rich Media team will be around, so you’ll get to hang out with them and talk about all things rich-media afterwards.
This programme has only been running for half a year, so join the community now. The certificate also acts like a “Priority Pass” – you will receive exclusive invites to various events, happenings and beta tests. Like this one for example: http://www.richmediagallery.com/newsDetail/?id=38
