Nothing excites our technology team more than meeting the next generation of entrepreneurs and listening to young technologists and developers share their new inventions, developments and products because it ensures they gain the very best insights from Asia’s emerging tech scene.
One of the largest start-up events is the Echelon Asia Summit and Cogs Singapore went along to meet the tech entrepreneurs of the future.
While smaller than last year’s event, there was still a brilliant buzz. It was great to see the start-up and tech community from Singapore come out in force, from big names like IBM as well as those new to the market. It was also very exciting to see some foreign start-ups attend, from Korea, Indonesia and Japan, looking to gain support, insights and share advice.
There were a few notable exhibitors at the event, such as Jocky – the driver booking app to get you and your car home safely after a night out. With fantastic visuals and product, they really stood out. Promoting ‘safety first’ they are currently only in the Singapore market but want to launch in Australia next and Japan.
Also Beely – a Malaysian start up which is a revolutionary point farming game/app that allows you to harvest points while hanging out at Beely powered locations – caught the attention of lots of visitors. Exhibitors that were interactive, or had the “fun factor” were the most engaging. In particular ubersnap, a futuristic photo booth that prints moving images, which Dianne and Justin had a lot of fun with.
Overall, the event was fantastic, giving Cogs Singapore a chance find out about the newest and coolest technology and meet inspiring people and budding developers and designers.
